Hallerbos is Belgium’s most famous bluebell wood, but it’s not the only one. Here’s a list of 20 other bluebell woods where you can see magnificent displays of bluebells this Spring.
Belgium offers several enchanting bluebell woods where you can witness the mesmerizing blooms and scents of wild bluebells from the middle of April. While the most famous is the Hallerbos (a separate post of mine describes everything you need to know about the Hallerbos), it isn’t the only blue forest in Belgium. Actually, you may prefer to steer clear of the Hallerbos as it can get extremely busy.
With this in mind I have created this list of 20 bluebell woods across Flanders and Wallonia as well as a couple in Brussels. These are all freely accessible and celebrated for their bluebell displays. The first link for each bluebell wood is an interesting website about the place; the second link is the Google map of the location; and the third is a recommendation for a Bed & Breakfast in the area if you want to make an overnight stay to maximize your visit.
Enjoy your visit to your bluebell display of choice!

I hope these give you some ideas of where to visit a bluebell wood in Belgium (beyond Hallerbos). The forests listed under Flanders and Wallonia are the most interesting. The two in Brussels demand a bit of searching to find the bluebells.
If you know of any other bluebells woods in Belgium, please comment below or contact me and I will add them to the list. Thanks. Denzil

I created Discovering Belgium in 2011 to share the country’s hidden stories, fascinating places, and remarkable people. Through articles, photography, and audio walks, I share discoveries that reveal Belgium beyond the obvious. Hope you enjoy this site.
