Stage 4 of the GR 571, and the first signs of spring along the River Salm. I see the season’s first butterflies, come face to face with a stoat, find some badger footprints, and discover that my overnight lodging is an ice-box.
A lovely place to visit at this time of the year. And if you sit still, you’ll be surprised at what you can see and hear.

The 9 km Ijsewandeling starts from the centre of Huldenberg, behind the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe church. You can park on the village square. By public transport, the 344 bus travels conveniently from Schumann to Huldenberg. After your walk you can quench your thirst at the Rochus Taverne on the Gemeenteplein.
